TOUR CODE: 112HEH
The Kailash Yatra by Helicopter Ex Lucknow is specially for those Indian pilgrims who are extremely short of time, but wish to have the shortest possible trip to Mt Kailash and Manasarovar with a full circumambulation (Parikrama or kora) around Mt Kailash. However, it is worth noting that the full circumambulation of Mt Kailash is the most strenuous and dangerous part of the yatra. Most people get sick and could collapse during this parikrama. So, if you wish to undertake the yatra with a grand lifetime darshan of Mt Kailash and Manasarovar without undertaking the Kailash Parikrama, this tour can be done in just a 5 days time. In other words, the Kaialsh Yatra ex Lucknow is much easier if you do not undertake the dangerous Parikrama as it requires you to cross the high pass of 5,650 m called Drolma La. It is an option for you. Please do write to us for further information.

Itinerary
We pick you up from Lucknow and drive to Nepalganj (150 m). Check in to Hotel Sneha. Rest.
After early breakfast, transfer to airport and fly to Simikot (2,910 m: aprox 1 hr). The flight is highly scenic as we fly over the soaring mountains, beautiful valleys with lovely rivers. Simikot is the headquarter of Humla District very remotely located in terms of its topography. The lifestyle here we find very much influenced by the Tibetan way of life. Here, we are required to obtain permit for our further journey. It is ideal to spend the whole day here with acclimatization. Overnight in hotel/guest house.
After early morning breakfast, we take helicopter to Hilsa (3,700m)(aprox 20-25 min)(Nepal-Tibet border point). The flight route takes us over the deep Karnali River gorge with narrow valleys where the weather may start fluctuating from the late morning time. This is the reason why we operate more helicopter shuttle flights early in the morning so as to transport all of our group members to Hilsa. Normally, we use 5 seater small helicopter which carrys 5 persons with 10 kg of luggage per person. So, it is our request not to carry unnecessary luggage. Depending upon the situation, we may also use 2 helicopters at a time so that all members reach Hilsa faster and enable the group cross the border together with immigration formalities. Then, we drive for about 45 minuts and reach Taklakot (4,570 m) where we will have overnight at guest house in Taklakot.
As we gain a tremendous height from Nepalganj (150 m) to Taklakot (4,570 m), full rest at Taklakot is highly recommendable. Full rest in Taklakot at guest house.
AM: Scenic drive to Manasarovar (4,500 m: 1½ hours) – Rest time free for puja and havan. PM: Take a holy parikrama tour around the Sacred Manasarovar (3 hours) by bus – Overnight at guest house at Manasarovar.
After early morning puja at Manasarovar and breakfast, scenic drive to Darchen (4,560 m: 1 hr) – Then, drive further to YAMADWAR (7 km) and start parikrama on foot by going through the YAMA DWAR to DHIRAPHUK(4,900 m)(10 km: 4-5 hr) - Overnight at guest house.
Today, better to start earlier so that we could over cross the high pass called DROLMA LA (5,650 m) before noon. There is a high chance of getting windy with bad weather after noon. Then, continue trek to ZUTULPHUK exploring GAURI KUNDA on the way downward. Today is the most challenging day with a long day walk. However, as it is a downhill walk from the DROLMA LA, it is comparatively easier. Overnight at tented guest house Continue walk until the mid day with about a 10 km walk (2-3 hrs) on the plane terrain.
Continue walk until the mid day with about a 10 km walk (2-3 hrs) on the plane terrain. End trek at CHONGDO where our vehicle will be waiting to pick us up and drive to DARCHEN (8 km/45 min) on the plane terrain where we join the non-parikrama participants and continue drive back to Taklakot (3 hr) – Rest for recapitulation of the 2½ days kora or stroll around with your own interest – Overnight at guest house.
Morning, drive to the Chinese Immigration point and undergo immigration formalities and we walk to Hilsa by crossing over a suspension bridge. From Hilsa, we fly back to Simikot (20-25 min) by helicopter – Overnight at Simikot.
Early morning, we take a fixed wing flight to Nepalganj (1 hr). Later afternoon or evening, drive back to Lucknow. NOTE: As the weather in Hilsa and Simikot is unpredictable, it is advised to have a day or two spare so as to avoid the hassle of connecting flight or train from Lucknow to your homeward journey.
