Kailash Yatra by Helicopter Ex Kathmandu
TOUR CODE: 113HEH
This Kailash Tour by helicopter ex Kathmandu is specially for those who are extremely short of time, but wish to have the shortest possible trip to Mt Kailash and Manasarovar with a full circumambulation (Parikrama or kora) around Mt Kailash. However,it is worth noting that the full circumambulation of Mt Kailash is the most strenuous and dangerous part of the yatra. Most people get high altitude sickness and could collapse during this parikrama. So, if you wish to undertake the yatra with a grand lifetime darshan of Mt Kailash and Manasarovar only without undertaking the Kailash Parikrama, this Yatra can be done in just a 7 days time. In other words, the Kaialsh Yatra is much easier if you do not undertake the dangerous Parikrama, as it requires you to cross the high pass of 5,650 m called Drolma La. It is an option for you. Please do write to us for further information.

Itinerary
Arrival at Kathmandu– Transfer to hotel – Evening, attend Arati program at Pashupatinath – Briefing on the tour over dinner - Hotel and Rest
Visit Pashuatinath Temple complex with puja. PM: Transfer to airport and take a fixed wing flight to Nepalganj (1 hour) – Overnight at Hotel Sneha.
Morning, take a fixed wing flight to Simikot (2,910)(45 min). Spend the remaining day in rest at hotel for acclimatization. In Simikot, a special permit for helicopter has to be obtained for our further journey. Overnight at hotel.
Early morning, take a helicopter to Hilsa (3,700 m: 20 min). It is the morning time most of our suttle flights have to be completed so as to ensure all of our group members reach Hilsa and could enter into Tibet together. At Hilsa, we meet our Tibetan guide with vehicle and cross the border with immigration formalities at Sher (border town) and drive to Taklakot (4,755 m: 45 min) – Rest in the guest house for acclimatization.
As Taklakot is high enough with a gain of height from 300 m to 4,755 m, a full day rest is highly recommendable so as to enable the people to undertake the rest of the journey free of problems. Full rest and hotel.
After breakfast, scenic drive to Manasarovar (4,550 m: 1½ hours) – Rest time free for puja and havan. PM: Take a parikrama tour around Holy Manasarovar (3 hours) by bus & rest time free for puja and havan again.– Overnight at guest house at Manasarovar.
After breakfast, drive to Darchen (4,560 m: 1 hr) and continue our drive to TARBOCHE (4,600 m: 7 km/45 min) where there is YAMA DWAR (taken as the door to heaven). Right here, SAGA DAWA festival (birth day celebration of Lord Buddha) is observed by the local Tibetans congregating from different corners of Tibet in the month of June every year. From here, first going through the YAMA DWARA, we start parikrama (kora) around MT KAILASH. The total distance of the circumambulation (kora) around Mt Kailash from DARCHEN to DARCHEN is of 53 km and overnight at DHIRA PHUK (10 km/5-6 hrs) – Overnight at tented guest house
Today, better to start earlier so that we could over cross the high pass called DROLMA LA (5,600 m) before noon. There is a high chance of getting windy with bad weather in the afternoon. Then, continue trek to ZUTULPHUK exploring GAURI KUNDA on the way. Today is the most challenging day with a long day walk. However, as it is a downhill walk from the DROLMA LA, it is comparatively easier. Overnight at tented guest house at ZUTULPHUK.
Continue walk until the mid day with about a 10 km walk (2-3 hrs) on the plane terrain. End trek at a point called CHONGDO where our vehicle will be waiting to pick us up and drive to DARCHEN (3 km) where we meet our waiting participants without joining the parikrama and continue our drive back to Taklakot (3 hr) – Rest for recapitulation of the 3 day kora or stroll around with your own interest – Overnight at guest house.
Morning, drive back to Hilsa with immigration formalities at the border Sher. Cross the Karnali River by overcrossing a suspension bridge. From Hilsa, fly helicopter back to Simikot (20 min) from Hilsa, take fixed wing flight to Nepalganj (1 hr). Transfer to Hotel Sneha and overnight with rest.
After breakfast, transfer to airport and fly back to Kathmandu (1 hr). Transfer to your hotel. Rest with local exploration in Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.
Free until departure time for airport. Transfer to airport to connect your flight back home or to onward destination. NOTE: Because of the unpredictable weather condition in the remote areas like Hilsa and Simikot, It is advised to have a day or two spare in Kathmandu so as to avoid last minute hassle of missing your homeward flight from Kathmandu. However, even within this 12 days itinerary, wherever possible, we will shorten the tour so as to ensure the shortest tour as far as possible without requiring to have extra days.
